Up here, people often wear sou'westers. Very practical, as it keeps the water from sliding down the back of your neck. A bit funny-looking but they have become fashionable the last few years.
We have a whole family set with a gigantic Mickey Mouse on the back. We were at Disney and it POURED the entire time. These were cheaper than umbrellas but too expensive that I haven't been able to bring myself to trash them!!!

ReplyDeleteI'd happily wear that. It's much more stylish than the trash bag I've worn to stay dry.

ReplyDeleteI have a whole closet full of those because I am never prepared enough to bring them along, so I always have to buy one when the weather changes.
ReplyDeleteWe lived in Costa Rica for 7 years, you haven't seen rain like that.
ReplyDeleteOn many occasions we were caught wearing bright orange panchos!
And we were the only ones :)
Hey, at least you're color-coordinated! :)
ReplyDeleteLove it! Of course I've worn one, on 2 occasions in fact, both in South East Asia. When the rain comes down there, it really comes down :)
ReplyDeleteGiven that I currently live in a costal rain forrest... that kind of rain is pretty much the norm all winter long.
ReplyDeleteI would just wear the normal rain jacket. But I'd go with the hefty bag if I was in a pinch. Better dry than fashionable.
