Photo Friday: Antwerp in Replicate

2010
1966

So, I had this idea while in Antwerp with my kids
to replicate a photo my dad had taken of my mom, brother, and me in 1966.  We are in front of the World War Memorial at the Stadspark in Antwerp, Belgium.  My brother and I are just toddlers, though, in the lower photo.  My daughter and son are 14 and 11 in the other.  (And my mom's the one
with the beehive.)

  3. I LOVE it! That is so special. I did something similar with my roommate. She had an old photo of her mom laughing in the ocean. We dressed her similarly and headed to the ocean to try to recreate it. Such special memories. Thanks for sharing.

  4. What a great idea! So do you now have both of them framed together? What a wonderful souvenir for all the generations of your family.

  8. What a cool idea! Antwerp was, hands down, my favorite city in Belgium. I could have done without Brussels and spent my whole time in Benelux in Antwerp instead! (Luckily, I used to live in Holland, so it wasn't too long of a trip.)

  10. What a special photo - I love the idea of replicating a family photo a generation or two later. The memorial still looks in fine condition too.
